Meet Your Forester

Welcome to Osprey Resource Consulting. I’m Kirk Sehlmeyer. I’ve been in the forestry and natural resource industry since 2010, in both the public and private sector. After graduating from Ohio State, I moved to Sandpoint, Idaho in 2012 working for the United States Department of Agriculture as a forester. In 2020, I was ready for a change and started Osprey Resource Management.

Why am I in this business? I’m living my passion! I enjoy protecting and enhancing our forests and working lands. I love learning about the interconnectedness of the plants, animals, and fungi found in our local forests. I take this understanding and design management systems that improve forest health and function. But, the best part of this business is the people! I’ve met tremendous people all over the northwest and helped them make their little slice of the world a better place. When I’m not running around in the woods on the clock, I’m probably running around in the woods off the clock. I enjoy backpacking, fly fishing, mushroom hunting, and international travel.
